Shadus Family

A family that originates from and mostly resides in Aster City.

This family was notable during the Silver Age of Axisguards, where several members formed the Overseers.

The Shadus Family contains the following people:

Silver Age of Axisguards

An era of axisguards that occurred during the discovery of Abandoned Sectors.

The Silver Age of Axisguards began over 50 years after the previous Gold Age. This era was defined by the heroic actions of the Overseers, who kickstarted the popularity of axisguards.

The Six Distant Moons

Giant astronomical objects that are always visible in the skies of the world.

There are six of these objects, each a different color. They have yet to be physically reached by the world’s inhabitants.

Sky Axiom

An Axiom that allows its user to depart surfaces with great force and easily move through the air.

Skyroot

?

Smoke Axiom

An Axiom that allows its user to create and control smoke.

Snow Axiom

An Axiom that allows its user to create and control snow.

Solar Axiom

An Axiom that allows its user to create and control Solar Energy.

Solar Energy

A fiery red energy released by stars.

Solar Energy has some empowering properties towards Sunbugs.

Solenne

?

Soul Axiom

An Axiom that allows its user to control souls and their energy.

Soul Scars

Wound-like red markings that grow on beings when the core functions of their soul have been tampered with. These marks are most commonly seen on Memorians.

Soul Scars manifest in random areas throughout the body. The more a soul has been twisted, the more Soul Scars will form. Each scar emits a dim red light, making attempts to hide them difficult. However, these scars are similar to regular scars in that they are not painful to have, simply being visual features.

The Soul

One of the three aspects of every living being.

The soul is the abstract, animating aspect that a being uses to drive their existence into the world. It is the innermost and most complex aspect, acting as the spark that brings about life, making all physical and mental actions possible, entirely ethereal in nature and interpreted as willpower by the mind.

Sound Axiom

An Axiom that allows its user to create powerful sound waves and control sound.

Speed Axiom

An Axiom that allows its user to use super speed, an ability that lets them manipulate the speed of their body.

Staff of Luster

?

Stress Type

The type of stress that a heart endures due to the presence and use of Axioms.

There are eight Stress Types, with each type producing a different heartbeat pattern. The types are:

Sunbugs

A species of mutant insects.

Due to their origins, all Sunbugs are born with the Solar Axiom. They can also shrink their bodies down to the size of a normal insect, then return to their normal size.

Three Cities Era

An era that began 42 years ago and continues into the present day.

The Three Cities Era is defined by the vast majority of humankind collectively migrating into the three largest cities in the world:

Following the rise and spread of Abandoned Sectors, humans left most Civilized Sectors to avoid mass Gloom-Corruption and attacks from Memorians. By largely relocating their population and security into their three largest cities, humankind was able to better defend themselves against these new threats. However, decades of relying on just these cities has started showing signs of strain.

Toon Axiom

An Axiom that allows its user to create and control Toon Power.

This Axiom is usually exclusive to the Artunian human race.

Toon Power

A white-colored energy that can only be produced by the Toon Axiom.

Toon Power ripples against the fabric of reality. When interacting with the world, this energy can allow its user to warp reality in absurd, cartoon-like ways. However, these comical effects can only manifest if the user is in a silly mood and they genuinely find their own antics funny. Without BOTH these requirements, Toon Power will not produce an effect.

Objects and beings struck by Toon Power do NOT respond to it with the same comical nature. Instead, they will show realistic and serious reactions against the impossible scenarios affecting them. Despite this, without continuous effort and focus from the Toon Power user, the effects of Toon Power will fade after a few minutes and reality will return back to normal.

Tourbillion

An Underdrive Gem used by Javier as his main weapon in combat, which he wields in a reverse grip.

The Tourbillion is a grey-colored gem that is normally in a “dormant” state, carried by Javier in his pocket. When it is fed the element of electricity, the Tourbillion enters an “active” state, producing several large crystal shards that float around it, taking on a drill-like form and function.

Triad of Qualia

?

Trueborns

Beings that have at least one active Axiom.

The vast majority of humans are Trueborns.

Twin Liger Fists

?

Underdrive Gem

Axionite that has been fed enough plasma to reach a Gem Level 2.

At this level, when an Underdrive Gem is fed a specific substance, the gem will react by equipping its user with a weapon and/or armor. The gem itself could also transform into this equipment.

Underdrive Gems can only react to a single specific substance. This substance is determined when the Axionite first becomes an Underdrive Gem. The VERY FIRST substance that is fed to a new Underdrive Gem permanently locks in that substance, “saving” it as the substance it will always react to again in the future.

When an Underdrive Gem is first activated, the equipment that is given to the user is also determined. Here, the gem responds to the user’s mind, giving the user equipment that best suits their knowledge and immediate needs. This equipment is also permanently “saved,” reproducing it during every future activation.

Uranium Axiom

An Axiom that allows its user to create and control uranium.

Valor Legion

A group of powerful heroic beings.

There have been two different groups that have used the name “Valor Legion” throughout the history of the Central Axis:

  • The ancient Valor Legion: A group of eight Valors that banded together to stop a fallen Celestial.

  • The wartime Valor Legion: A group of 30 Artunian warriors that fought in the Artunian War. This group took on the name of the original ancient Legion as both an homage and to invigorate themselves.

Valors

Beings that protect the inhabitants of the Central Axis.

Any kind of living being can become a Valor. They are commonly divided into two types:

  • Danger Valors

  • Safer Valors

Because most Valors disappeared after the Artunian War, the rise of axisguards in their place has caused some to regard axisguards as a new third type of Valor.

Vampire Axiom

An Axiom that allows its user to use vampiric powers and permanently gain vampiric traits.

Ventra Birthmark

An icon of existence.

Bearers of this spiral mark can use an extremely rare power.

Ventra Family

A family with strong connections to GearTerra.

The exact status of most members of the Ventra Family is unknown. Their association with the Ventra Birthmark brought them some infamy within GearTerra—especially Shade.

Ventra-Vault

A special pocket dimension created and controlled by users of the Hammerspace Ability.

It can also be called a personal Hammerspace.

Water Axiom

An Axiom that allows its user to create and control the element of water.

Wind Axiom

An Axiom that allows its user to create and control the element of wind.

Wood Axiom

An Axiom that allows its user to create and control wood.

Zero-Stress

A Stress Type that occurs when there are no Atriums with an active Axiom.

The heartbeat pattern produced by this Stress Type is ((hum... hum... hum...))
