Silver Age of Axisguards
An era of axisguards that occurred during the discovery of Abandoned sectors over 50 years after the previous Golden Age. This era was defined by the heroic actions of the Overseers, who kickstarted the overall popularity of axisguards.
The Six Distant Moons
Giant astronomical objects that are always visible in the skies of the Central Axis. There are 6 of these objects, each a different color. They have yet to be physically reached by the inhabitants of the world.
Solar Energy
A fiery red energy released by stars. It has some empowering properties towards Sunbugs.
Soul Scars
Wound-like red markings that grow on beings when the core functions of their soul have been tampered with. These marks are most commonly seen on Memorians.
Soul Scars manifest in random areas throughout the body. The more a soul has been twisted, the more Soul Scars will form. Each scar emits a dim red light, making attempts to hide them difficult. However, these scars are similar to regular scars, in that they are not painful by themselves and are simply visual features.
The Soul
One of the 3 aspects of every living being. It concerns the actions in the spiritual side of beings, relating to the mysterious abstract force which drives the actions of the other aspects of the mind and body.
Stress Type
A type of stress that a heart endures due to the presence and use of Axioms. There are 8 Stress Types, with each type producing a different heartbeat pattern.
The Stress Types are:
Sunbugs
A species of mutant insects. Due to their origins, all Sunbugs are born with the Solar Axiom.
Sunbugs can also shrink their bodies down to the size of a normal insect, then return to their normal size.
Three Cities Era
An era that began 42 years ago and continues into the present day. It is defined by the vast majority of humankind collectively migrating into the 3 largest cities in the Central Axis:
Following the rise and spread of Abandoned Sectors throughout the world, humans left most Civilized Sectors to avoid both mass Gloom-Corruption and attacks from Memorians. By largely centralizing their population and security into their 3 largest cities, humankind was able to better defend themselves against these new threats. However, decades of relying on just these cities has started showing signs of strain.
Toon Axiom
An Axiom that allows its user to create and control Toon Power. This Axiom is usually exclusive to the Artunian human race.
Toon Power
A white-colored energy that can only be produced by the Toon Axiom. It ripples against the fabric of reality.
When interacting with the physical world, Toon Power can allow its user to warp reality in absurd, cartoon-like ways. However, these comical effects can only manifest if the user is in a silly mood and they genuinely find their own antics funny. Without BOTH these requirements, Toon Power will not produce an effect.
Objects and beings struck by Toon Power do NOT respond to it with the same comical nature. Instead, they will show realistic and serious reactions against the impossible scenarios affecting them. Despite this, without continuous effort and focus from the Toon Power user, the effects of Toon Power will fade after a few minutes and reality will return back to normal.
Tourbillion
An Underdrive Gem used by Javier as his main weapon in combat. It is a grey-colored gem that matches Javier’s same hair color.
The gem is normally in a “dormant” state, carried by Javier in his pocket. When it is fed the element of electricity, the Tourbillion enters an “active” state, producing several large crystal shards that float around it, taking on a drill-like form and function.
Trueborns
Beings that have at least 1 active Axiom. The vast majority of humans are Trueborns.
Underdrive Gem
Axionite that has been upgraded by plasma to produce a weapon and/or armor when exposed to a specific substance.
Valor Legion
A group of powerful, heroic beings.
There have been 2 different groups that have used the name “Valor Legion” before:
The ancient Valor Legion: A group of 8 Danger Valors that banded together to stop a fallen Celestial.
The wartime Valor Legion: A group of 30 Artunian warriors that fought in the Artunian War. This group took on the name of the original ancient Legion as both an homage and way to invigorate themselves.
Valors
Beings that protect the inhabitants of the Central Axis. Any kind of living being can become a Valor.
Valors are commonly divided into 2 types:
Danger Valors
Safer Valors
Because most Valors disappeared after the Artunian War, the rise of axisguards in their place has caused some to consider axisguards a new third type of Valor.
Zero-Stress
A Stress Type that occurs when there are no Atriums with an active Axiom.
The heartbeat pattern produced by this Stress Type is ((hum... hum... hum...))
