G

GearTerra

A once celebrated science-military group that played a pivotal role against the rise of Abandoned Sectors.

58 years after the Artunian War, a directionless GearTerra first discovered Memorians. Thanks to their swift and coordinated efforts, thousands of families from throughout the Central Axis were safely relocated to Fulcrum City—kickstarting the Three Cities Era. Working alongside the Overseers, GearTerra uncovered the exact mechanisms behind Gloom-Corruption. Since then, they dedicated themselves to reversing the corruption from and continued spread of Red Gloom.

Decades of failures against Red Gloom slowly pushed GearTerra into increasingly desperate actions. Their pursuit of more drastic measures would eventually warp the group’s judgment and lead them to lose their core ethics. Leaders would shift GearTerra's efforts to more selfish and obsessive places, with their experiments becoming harsher and secretive.

After GearTerra’s corruption was finally exposed, the group was officially expunged. While GearTerra’s largest divisions were hunted down and dismantled by the police, a few splinter units remained, with some remnants trying to restore GearTerra to their former glory.

As a military group, GearTerra is composed of the following ranks:

  • General: The highest authority, overseeing strategy, research direction, and all operations.

  • Colonel: The mid-level commanders that coordinate field missions and manage squads.

  • Scouts: The entry-level operatives that carry out most on-the-ground assignments.

Geometric Axiom

Description to be added. This Axiom is usually exclusive to Plexians.

Ghost Axiom

An Axiom that allows its user to create and control a spiritual energy which manifests as Ghost-Fire.

Ghost-Fire

An ethereal energy that can interact with Ghosts and Specters. It manifests as flames that are blue and/or purple in color; the exact color varies on the user. These ghostly flames have very different properties than normal fire. They are not extinguished by water and are fueled by the user’s soul.

Glass Axiom

An Axiom that allows its user to create and control glass.

Gloom Axiom

An Axiom that allows its user to create and control Red Gloom.

Gloom-Binding

A permanent link that is formed between a victim of Gloom-Corruption and the Red Gloom that infected them.

Gloom-Binding occurs when a being transforms into a Memorian. Even if they return back to normal, their soul is permanently changed by the experience, forever infected and connected to the specific batch of Red Gloom that caused their corruption. This means the destruction of a bound batch of Red Gloom can severely harm—or even kill—all beings connected to it. Because of this, Red Gloom bound to humans is carefully stored and protected.

Gloom-Corruption

A process that can occur when a living being is exposed to high doses of Red Gloom.

Because the proper dose of Red Gloom is only a single drop, anything greater will cause the user to become overly consumed by their memories. This “hyper-memory” effect is so powerful that sensory information becomes harmful, and this constant pain can cause the affected to become a violent Memorian.

Visually, Memorians lose all color in their bodies, except for some areas which become red, including their whole eyes. Soul Scars will also erupt throughout their body.

Gloom-Corruption is NOT permanent, but it is extremely difficult to reverse. Sufficient intelligence and willpower can restore a being back to normal. However, the effected being’s soul is permanently changed by the experience.

Gold Axiom

An Axiom that allows its user to create and control gold.

Illusion Axiom

K

Ki

A power system that is connected to the body. It is also called Chi and Qi, with its user typically called a Ki-Bearer.

The use of Ki draws upon the energy produced by a being’s body. As such, Ki is dependent on the strength and status of the body; injured and recovering bodies will use Ki less effectively than ones in peak physical condition. The Ki Axiom is also required for Ki to be used.

Ki has a yellow color theme and is part of the Aspect Trio. Its mental counterpart is Psionics, and its spiritual counterpart is Magic. This power system is far less complex than its counterparts, meaning Ki’s power ceiling is lower but more easy to achieve.

Ki Axiom

An Axiom that allows its user to use Ki, a power system with a connection to the body.

Kinesis Tinting

A rare trait in Axioms that create and control a substance.

When a being has this trait, the substance they control immediately gains an unusual color and property. This prevents other beings from controlling their substance, even via telekinesis from the Aspect Trio.

L

Lava Axiom

An Axiom that allows its user to create and control lava.

Left-Tilt

A Stress Type that occurs when the Left and Center Atriums are the only atriums with an active Axiom.

The heartbeat pattern produced by this Stress Type is ((THUM-THUM... THUM-THUM... hum...))

Light Axiom

An Axiom that allows its user to create and control the element of light.

Locked Axiom

An Axiom that is inaccessible to their user. With enough concentration and effort, some locked Axioms can be tapped into, but in very limited ways.

Locked Axioms are naturally unlocked by their user over the course of their life, usually through training and their aging. However, some locked Axioms are extremely difficult to unlock; Special rituals and external sources exist to unlock these Axioms.
